I just today got to the article in the new Vintage Guitar about early 
Gibson amps.  Definitely educational in any case; but it (and hoped-for 
subsequent articles) may narrow down this mystery.
  I'm not sure this thing is a Gibson-made amp, of course.  The Epi 
"House of Stathopoulos" book may shed some light, too.
I'm going to try to get a better look at it over Xmas holiday--make a 
tube chart, note details, etc.
