Now *that's* a bonfire ....but could just drag your ladder out
there, then lug the branches up the ladder and launch from there

  Ouch :-((   ...  but I thought nettles only sting if you brush
against them  ie  any 'forceful' contact crushes the 'stingers' ? Keep in
mind that I'm going back almost 40 years (shudder!), I don't think we have
nettles over here.
