Sorry you took it that way Jonathan. I gave you the best possible answer
"I have documented HPFS." You must understand that information
such as this(HPFS) has value.

JdBP> That's exactly what I said. I'll leave it quoted. I even went so far
JdBP> (in another post) to ask who (if it turns out to be the case) we could
JdBP> complain to in order to get it fixed.

JdBP> How come you are being so argumentative anyway ?

Again, I am sorry that you perceive this as an argument. I responded to a
person that said that "HPFS has a 64GB" limit. I pointed this
out as "not true", that person was not you. You responded to my
"Not true" statement. Things like this happen in a medium such as
Fido.

JdBP> This thread started because up until now I had always believed that
JdBP> HPFS had a 2 Terabyte limitation. I asked whether anyone had any hard
JdBP> evidence to confirm the 64Gb rumours, such as a detailed explanation
JdBP> of why such a limitation would exist given the 32-bit sector
JdBP> addressing scheme used by HPFS (why such an odd number of bits, for
 JdBP> example).

I think the main problem is that people are confusing HPFS.ifs et al with
the logical HPFS format. The HPFS logical format, which I know, will
handle 2T. The HPFS.ifs, which I do not have source access to, has a
significantly lower limit.

JdBP> You haven't been following the thread properly. That is where we
 JdBP> started.

Why so hostile. Correct, I got in on this thread when someone
said "HPFS has a 64GB" limit. Now if they had said that
HPFS.ifs, or some other part, limits hpfs volume sizes to 64GB I would not
have responded.

Hey, while I have your attention... How did OWF work for you?
Are you a believer?

To All: For those of you that freq'd or FTP'd the OWF.lzh package please let me
know how it went for you.

David

PS - Jonathan, let me stress again that the written form of communications
does not lend itself well to true expression. I am not out to be
argumentative, just informative. If I have come across too 'strong' then I
apologize.
