Greetings, Steven...
Steven Cox hastily said to David Durgee:
SC>>> I am using OS/2 & PPPDIAL with PPP in a command line session.
SC>>> I never get a promt for login ID or password.
DD>> Is it possible that the ISP is going directly into PPP? If so, write
DD>> your PPPDIAL RSP file to have only the line "GO" in it.
SC> This did not work either. I thought it was going to but I get
SC> disconected.
SC> Thanks for trying!
I recall seeing discussion not too long ago in this echo about a program
called "PPPFAKE" that you could use to determine what your ISP's system is
looking for. I think you connected to the ISP with it, and it would display
the prompts that were being sent. I haven't had any occasion to use it
myself, but I understand it did solve a lot of this type of problem... (I
guess if you know what's coming, you can accommodate it in your script). You
might find it on a your nearby OS/2 supportive BBS, or if you can somehow get
to the internet, on Gary Hamer's "Must-have Utilities" site, or possibly on
the CincyTeamOS/2 Master Updates site. Unfortunately, I don't recall the
exact name of the file, but someone here might..
