| subject: | Re: 2 Wire Quiet Case Fans - Where ? |
The Flash plugin to which I referred appears to be a version of Flash 7 that Innotek developed for OS/2 but then could not get permission from MacroMedia to distribute (probably because MacroMedia did not want to upset Micro$oft). Really? What about this message from the Macromedia chief: ********** OS2Voice - Your news post "Net: Ask Macromedia to allow Flash 7 for OS/2" has certainly caught our attention. And while I understand that there are many people who would like to have the Flash Player 7 for OS/2. Flash Player 7 for OS/2 does not exist. Macromedia has not created Flash Player 7 for OS/2, and we are not preventing any third party from releasing it. None of our licensees have ported Flash Player 7 to OS/2. I certainly understand that folks are frustrated, especially since they think we are holding something from them. I want to personally assure you we are not holding back the Flash Player product from the OS/2 community. lee Lee Thomason ***************************** Although is has been suggested that further distribution of this file may harm Innotek and hinder its further development of products for OS/2, Which is as near the truth as the pile of weapons for mass destruction someone was talking about not a long time ago. There is "floating" around a next generation (flash7b), and this one makes it clear what it all is about: tying to and making it impossible to use programs from competitors. http://www.taartenbakkerij.com/bestanden/flash7b.zip Perhaps you won't be assimilated but sure your system could be trashed.
