Actually I was not installing audio I thought it was installed and I was=20
just trying to get it to work. i was playing around with settings and=20
making sure the speakers worked and were plugged in correctly. It has=20
been a long time since I had to troublshoot sound problems and all I=20
could remember was the last time I fixed it by changing a setting. So I=20
don't know for sure that the problem was sound related but the last=20
thing I did was to reboot to see if a setting would stick.

Anyway thanks for everyones help. After not making any progress I=20
decided to restore the one and only archive I had (the original=20
install), but when I did that I could not even boot to the blue screen,=20
which must mean I really had it messed up. At this point I just=20
reformatted it and re installed. This time I definetly will have a=20
backup in place before I put too much time in on it.

Regards, Jim
