I downloaded vimode and took a look at it. Here is what I found in regards
to the win32 version:
1) It defines the following keys by number instead of name. Since the
actual key numbers are different between the dos and win32 version, and
there are not any comments (that I could find) that tell what names go along
with these keys, I do not know what names they should be given in the win32
version. It looks like they are not primary keys, however, so maybe they
aren't needed? The functions they cause are also assigned to other named
keys, for instance, does a sentence left, which is also assigned to
(this can be in the win32 version). This is the list of keys
by number:

I tried getting these via showkey (in the DOS version), but could not get
any of these numbers. Came close on a few, but no cigar!
2) It uses a binary. Binary's are not supported in the win32 version. The
binary in question forces capslock on, so you won't kill yourself anymore
than normal in vi mode. I just commented the binary out, and commented out
the call to CapsOff() in the first part of the code.
3) The sentence commands are not quite 'right'. Of course this is a hard
one to get right. I have a set of sentence macros that work pretty good, I
would be happy to supply them if you want to try and merge them in.
Other than these, it appears to work. I'm not even a vi wannabe, so I
didn't test very many of the functions. But I do know how to :q
