I am writing a history of the Chalsma Family, also spelled Tjalsma.  I have
information that the family immigrated to the US in 1853.  The head of the
family at that time was named Sjoerd Tjalsma (see above).  Any help on the
history of the family prior to 1853 would be appreciated.
