Very true, but I was refering to the child that would resort to alcohol
to "self-medicate"...and I do know children as young as 6 who have become
drinkers. I, too, have had experience in AA and have heard stories from
kids 11 or 12 having 1 or 2 years "clean"....I couldn't believe it but
it is true. Now understand, I am not taking sides with Jane. I *don't*
believe that AD(H)D has anything to do with alcohol but kids can try to
self-medicate.

They sure do. If they had a child or two in their family with this problem,
they would, perhaps, try to understand more about the problem. I didn't
even realize it *was* a problem until one of my grandchildren was diagnosed
with it. I just thought he was hyper-active like his father and my other
two sons. That is what I was told when my kids were young.
