| subject: | Borland Turbo C++ in OS/2. |
A creature called Art Kim screamed at All:
AK> Hi! Curious if somebody could tell me what DOS
AK> session setting need to be modified for Borland Turbo C++
AK> v3.0 to run in OS/2 Warp. Being pretty new to programming,
AK> could somebody brief me on Watcom C++ and why a salesperson
AK> recommended purchasing it and not Borland C++ v4.0? Also
AK> curious how much $ it cost.
Simple. Watcom C/C++ is a multiplatform compiler, it will make EXE's
for Dos, Dos 32bit, Win, Win32s, WinNT, OS/2, and a bunch of other stuff
I'll never use. It has Dos, Windoze and OS/2 envronments. BC 4.0 has
compilers for Dos and Windoze, and a Windoze envronment. You can't make
OS/2 programs on BC 4.0. And Watcom is a better compiler, making smaller,
faster code.
I bought my copy of Watcom C/C++ 10.0 from Indellible Blue for $189 US.
