Of course he did.  He was trying to shift blame away from himself, and put it 
all on Hirschbeck, using his dead son as a tool.

Alomar has had three years to give this opinion.  What a coincidence that it 
comes out just after he spit on him.  I'm sure the two incidents are 
unrelated.
