Hello Wayne -

WC>>>>> I found an upgrade shop near here that offers a few
WC>>>>> "whiteboxes" for sale now and then. Not
too far and I
WC>>>>> need to check them out. My specs are at least 5 slots
WC>>>>> and 512 Meg RAM.

->> More 'server class' than 'desktop'. :-)

WC>>>>> I can't load their web page as they use Microsoft web
WC>>>>> page creation tools that use non-standard HTML :-(

->>>> Try using LINKS or LINKS2. I'd be very surprised if
->>>> KNOPPIX did not include that. It's a text-only browser
->>>> but it retains a good deal of the HTML layout (tables
->>>> etc.) from the page and can display individual graphics
->>>> if you wish to see one. Kinda slick really. :-)

WC>>> Not sure about LINKS but it's got LYNX. Anyway easy
WC>>> enough to find out as it opens a menu of browsers when I
WC>>> select "internet"

WC>>> Mozilla told me nothing, Konquoror told me the exact
WC>>> non-compliant HTML instruction. Even named the HTML
WC>>> standard it violated. I'll give it a shot, thanks.

WC>>> Tried Dillo too and it wouldn't load either.

->> Tell me what the URL is and I'll give it a looksee.

WC> www.stpci.com

WC> Neither LYNZ nor LINKS opened it. St. Pete Computers

This is what I get with FireFox on my first try:

"Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80004005'

[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][TCP/IP Sockets]SQL Server
does not exist or access denied."

After clicking on refresh I finally get the page fully rendered
here using both IEx v6 and FireFox v1.0.3.

The webpage at stpci.com seems to be generated using ASP code
but the result is one large page with javascript at the top
even before the start of the HTML tags for 'start of page'. The
CSS (cascading style sheet) is embedded into the page rather
than loaded as an external file - and so on and so on.

Almost a 'study' in how NOT to write a website. ;-)

The designer's webpage for http://www.e-managingsolutions.com
shows as "under construction at this time". LOL

If you _do_ happen to get in touch with St.Pete's
(1-727-522-6424) you might want to send them to my daughter who
can design a _proper_ website for them to use online -
www.devedia.com. St.Pete's has spent some money on their
website, too bad it was all wasted on what they have now (or
don't have now).
