There are federal, state, county and sometimes city codes that have to be
adhered to. Worst place I've been was Chicago, Cook County, Illinois.
About the only person that could work on electical was a union electrician.
In Colorado, you have to be a certified electrician to even work on your
own house. Other palces are different.
