I thought this was a screwup too (mainly because the timeframe seemed
way off from the early-30s setting the scene seemed to be set in), but
then I checked wiki and apparently Shemp actually was an original
member in their earliest days, was replaced by Curly, then rejoined
later on after Curly had a stroke.
