Blind people of the World,
Once again this year we are sending you this greeting from the Henry B.
Gonzalez Convention
Center in San Antonio Texas. We of the Greater San Antonio Chapter of the
National Federation of the
Blind of Texas are again participating in the 1997 South Texas Internet
Odyssey. This year we have greatly
expanded our participation in this event. For the first time the Internet
Odyssey Expo is including an
Adaptive Technology Pavilion which is showcasing adaptive hardware and
software used by persons with
various types of disabilities, including blind persons. Our chapter is one
of four exhibitors displaying this
technology. This year we are demonstrating just about every type of access
technology for the blind.
In addition to this we are working closely with the Web Page Lab, another
show attraction where
people can learn how to design their own World Wide Web Page, and all workers
received instruction in
how to make these web pages blind friendly. We will be working on other
computer and Internet Access
issues in the coming year.
We of the Greater San Antonio Chapter of the National Federation of the
Blind of Texas want to
encourage blind people everywhere to reach out and do what you can to ensure
the continued computer and
Internet access we currently enjoy, and to work to enhance that access in the
years to come.
Yours truly,
James Sofka
President, Greater San Antonio Chapter
National Federation of the Blind of Texas
