Hi guys,
I have been home-schooling for over 13 yrs. When I was teaching my
children I used a lot of thematic curriculum which I created. Much of
it dictated a lot of moving around. In other words a lot of the school
work was designed to do a lot of research.
We have an extensive library which you can build gradually based on
study materials you want to use etc. There were modules created where
they worked together and then split up into their own independent study.
session.
My children ages ranged from teens down to pre-schooler. We all took a
siesta during the day. We were ready to go again after the siesta for a
good 4 or four hours.
Its' the break up in the day that helps and the constant movement that
keeps lethargy away. It was scheduled and managed so no goofing was ever
allowed. :) We also had a pre-arranged area for studying and learning.
I wrote a pamphlet on the items that should be in a Learning Center.
If you are interested, let me know and I'll post it to you.
