I got my "Tracking the Market" page updated on my website yesterday.
Click on any of the links below, then scroll down to my investing
interests section. You will see my review of '01-'02, since I keep
biennial charts--today I still see the whole previous year's chart.
After the game is over it's easier to see the big picture, so we
shouldn't make too much of it. For '02 I think Volume was perhaps a
more influential confirming indicator than the Oscillator.

My Timing Signal popped a Buy Signal today, but it wasn't confirmed as
an Accumulation Day. As you can see below, Volume was less than
average, by -3%. I rather think the Street was predisposed to hope for
the best today and over-reacted when some good news came in. Just
because it's a new year doesn't mean all our problems are solved. Don't
let them pull you into a Sucker's Rally. The Summation Index is fairly
high, indicating times recently have been good for secondary stocks on
the NYSE. That's when you should be wary of a possible correction. The
Major Index, the S&P500, gives the impression of having found Support
around 875. Let's just hope this continues.

Price Vola- Momen- Volume Oscil- Summ.

Timing Signals: I don't use or recommend timing signals, but they're
fun to watch. If I did though, well, I might use something like this.
(Be warned!! It tends to whipsaw around signal points!)

Last Signal: BUY Date: 01/02/03 S&P: 909
Winner or Loser: tbd By: tbd
