I try and try to tell them th DH> the compiler dosen't play as important of a role in going cross-platfrom as DH> a class library or application framework. Someday they will understand.... I've been looking for a good multiplatform application framework; right now, I'm using some code of my own that implements MFC in OS/2 functions, but it's very limited; I only support each call as I come up with a need for it, so I spend as much time working on the class libraries instead of my programs. I would be much happier with a REAL framework--this is really only good for quick ports of my existing Windows code, and can't take full advantage of the flat memory model or multithreading that OS/2 provides. Worse yet, I'm basically still writing Windows code, the only difference being that I can make OS/2 versions of the same programs! It's absolutely repulsive. If you can recommend a good multiplatform applications framework, I'd like to hear about it. bye Ryan --- Renegade v10-05 Exp* Origin: The BBS at Pooh Corner (707)445-0500 2 nodes 14400 (1:125/37) SEEN-BY: 12/2442 620/243 624/50 632/348 640/820 690/660 711/409 410 413 430 SEEN-BY: 711/807 808 809 934 942 949 955 712/515 713/888 800/1 7877/2809 @PATH: 125/37 3615/50 229/2 12/2442 711/409 808 809 934 |
