-> I stick to my guns. No new crank shaft but only a new cam
-> shaft. And fuel pump would not run in reverse, it is operated by a
-> cam, not a gear. You should know that a cam coming to the lever
-> either way will displace the same amount of fuel and in the same
-> fashion. Tsk!tsk!
Jean: I can't see why a cam-operated wouldn't operate in reverse unless
there was something in either the shape or lobe of the cam? The fuel
pump lever rides on the cam-lobe and the direction of rotation shouldn't
make a difference. Cam lobes are all egg-shaped and normally the rise on
the two sides of the lobe are equally shaped. If it was gear operated a
new gear of the proper design and proper pitch would be all you need to
change. Actually when I first mentioned fuel pump I was thinking of it
being gear operated, but it is the oil pump which is usually gear
driven. Come to think of it, I can't ever remember seeing a gear driven
fuel pump.
