Should be, I've done it with my 3MB A500.

MLP> What software do I need?

A good start is Amitcp. From there you need web browsers etc. depending on
what you want to do. Amitcp is a cast iron bitch to install unless you know
exactly what you are doing or are willing to spend hours learning what all
the bits need, but help is available in the form of a number of Amitcp
installers. These beasts are also available on Aminet, but I can't tell you
which is best because I installed Amitcp the hard way. (I did a lot of
reading for about a week).

 MLP> Where can I get/buy it?

Most Ami internet stuff is available on Aminet. :) Makes for a drag if you
can't access the internet already... CD's make aminet possible as well as
local BBS's may stock some of the stuff.

MLP> Do I need to modify my Ami to make it work?
MLP> Will everything run at a reasonable speed?

Nah. You just need to hook the computer, the modem, and a provider together
somehow. :) Usually done with serial cables and phone lines. :) A math
co-pro will make it faster though. (Not that it's too slow to begin with.)

MLP> I'd love to hear from someone out there who's actually DONE IT! Some

platform etc..
MLP> I'd really like to separate the facts from the bullshit.

Well, I've done it and I hook into the Net about 3 times a week. My Web
Browser is 'ALynx'. This limits my web browsing to text only, but that's my
choice. Graphical web browsers certainly do exist for Ami though.

MLP> Now, here's my SPECIFIC problem.... I need to dial up real-time
MLP> stock/share prices (Aust only), either directly from the ASX (or

MLP> Is anyone out there doing this already on their Ami?
MLP> If so, how did you set it up (contacts, costs etc...)?
MLP> Who are you going through?

Can't help here sorry. I would suggest perhaps you could call ASX and find
out if it's possible to access their service with just a terminal program.
If it is, your main problems are solved quickly.

Understatement of the year. "Plutonium: best kept in small chunks."
