In a message dated 11-23-11, Sean Dennis said to Holger Granholm: Hi Sean, SD>There was a nice article about the record-setting number of licensed SD>hams in the US in the news recently. A lot of them, however, are SD>moving on to HF. VHF here is dead also in my area. Well, VHF and UHF aren't dead as far as CW and SSB is concerned. There's a lot of activity in the Nordic Activity Contest's that run every week on tuesdays and thursdays on different bands. They run on 4m, 6m, 2m, 70cm and 23 cm and 3 GHz up on their own weekdays. It started in the 60's with two meters and has since expanded but FM and repeaters are almost dead. SD>Speaking of repeater, I'm being given a working GE Master II SD>"rackmount" 2 meter repeater. I guess if I ever move where every SD>band pair isn't taken, maybe I'll just toss up a J-pole on a tower SD>and have my own little 2 meter repeater. :P Good luck, I hope that the repeater traffic goes on over there. Fidonet has been dead at least in scandinavia since nov. 23rd but today there is a lot of echomail again. 73 de Sam, OH0NC ___ * MR/2 2.30 * Multitasking = screwing up several things at once. --- PCBoard (R) v15.22 (OS/2) 2* Origin: Coming to you from the Sunny Aland Islands.
