The new method is to use smaller venues, and then add shows if the demand
is there. Leave a few extra days between cities when setting out the tour,
reserve the venue for the next day or two so you can add shows.
Garth Brooks started that as one of his methods to cut down on scalpers.
Sell tickets till everyone who wanted to go got a ticket by adding shows.
He also was the first to do the wrist bands a day or two in advance for
those who sat in line. Then, the start of ticket sales, they drew a number
from a hat as to what number wrist band got to the front of the line.
Also, limited tickets to 4 or 6 per person.
