From: Adam Flinton

T'other day they shot at the clearly marked UK embassy diplomatic cars
carrying another briton's family.

Luckily the range rovers are armoured.

But hey that's the Irgun for you.....OK they've rebranded as Likud...but as
the US bod said when they arrested Abbas..."once a terrorist always a
terrorist" & Menachim Begin & the rest of the Irgun/Likud....

However I no longer believe Mr Bush. Actions not words. So far we've seen
everything delayed for every reason Mr Sharon can think of & I see no
evidence of the US stepping up the pace in the face of Israeli opposition.

What makes me laugh is the comment of an israeli mate of mine called Yair
who can't work out why the US admin is so paralysed as in reality the
Israelis & by extension most of the US jewish voters are split right
down the middle on wether they should be dragged kicking & screaming to
a settlement & thus doing anything will result in 1/2 the votes for
Bush
& 1/2 the votes against.

i.e. If he does nothing the people who really want a settlement (let's say
50%) will reckon he's a waste of space & they'll vote democrat but the
other 50% who basically believe in Israel from the Med to the Jordan
& expelling the Arabs will vote for him. This is exactly the same vote
as if he kicks Israel towards some kind of Taba/1967 borders thingy where
the 1st 50% will vote for him but now the latter 50% won't...so no
change....
