nope, all supra 28.8's that i have come across will NOT cut the phone out if 
it
is connected in the "line" port on the back of the modem... i think the 
xcuse
that i heard was that it was too exepensive (extra $5-$20)
what the best thing to do if you are in the habbit of knocking the phone is 
to 
get a line isolator from tandy or dick smith or your local electronics store
