subject: my boat

-> I'm sure you have a bit heavier rigging than I do, too.
Dan: I can't remember what boat you have, but I don't think my rigging
is heavy. I think the mast is about 21 feet, 3 shroud halyards, VHF
antennae, and mast navigation light and a Windex do not weight very
much.
-> My trailer has a mast crutch as well. I haven't had any problems
->with leaving the shrouds in place, as they are rather light. They
->are more like the jib and main halyards on the big boat.
I have been thinking of making one up myself, I don't really need it
as the stern and bow railings keep the mast clear of the cuddy cabin.
Last season I put some some scrartches on my cuddy cabin hatch when I
failed to put some padding on the end of my boom. I am not too worried
about because I have to remove it anyways to do some fiberglass repairs.
Anyways that is minor and I have other work to do this spring when the
weather gets better and before I get her wet again.
