In a message dated 04-30-97, Murray Lesser said to David Noon about Vmdisk
Utility
Hi Murray,
I've moved this to OS2DOS, since it is on-topic here.
ML> I have (perhaps temporarily) given up on trying to make my Sharp
ML>Organizer update its data directly to my HD (and, eventually, from there
ML>to a diskette) by way of a VMB. I rang in all the changes I could think
ML>of, and could make everything happen _except_ transfer data back and
ML>forth between organizer and computer.
This makes me think the transfer software is using the I/O ports directly,
instead of BIOS interrupts, or the like.
ML>COM1 won't work when I boot the same diskette
ML>with "DOS from Drive A!" I guess direct access to COM1 is something
ML>that doesn't come with a VMB! Or maybe it's something about the
ML>ThinkPad.
Check your SIO settings for the VMB image. Also, the direct access setting
might be a useful tweak too.
Regards
Dave
