Ok.  I got it.  finally :)
Real coolness about star trek doors (sector tag 9):
it should look something like this:

If you looked at _se.map, you would know what I mean.

notice the extra space up there.
If you build the rest of it the same, and set the right sector tag (9 I 
think), You end up with a sort-of-jammed star trek door.  The first 4 times 
you press space on it, it won't open ( I don't think so anyway) but on the 
5th, it does.  It then takes one press of the space bar to close it, and 
another 5 to open it.  Very strange, but maybe it could be incorporated 
somehow...;)
