        You can open it without running the switchboard by holding down the 
SHIFT key while opening the database.  That works on a one-time basis though. 
 
If you want to turn it off completely, let me know for sure which version of 
Access you're using.  You mentioned v2, but the Switchboard is something new 
to Access95 so far as I know.
