 DP> Hi Abb:
DP> Welcome to the "newer" world of OOP. Oh, and Merry Christmas, too.
DP> Having said that, let's see what we can do.
Well, I got my two 16 meg simms for Christmas - my memory is sitting
 at 48 megs .
DP> I've not tried the same things you are attempting. I _would_ look to
DP> the properties of your Add button and see what you've given it.
Tried that. I've even looked at the Tasmanian Trader sample for a hint.
At the moment I think it may have something to do with something called
"refresh" or "refresh()". Even if I create an Add button with the click
code "append blank", I still have to tab or click the mouse to get
a cursor into that 1st field. You should create a quickie form using
the form wizard and you'll see what I'm getting at.
BTW, I _have_ cooled down since I wrote that other message . I was
blowing off steam. Believe me, if I had _really_ wanted Access 95
 instead of VFP 5, I wouldn't have gotten VFP 5 . Sometimes it's the
simple, almost insignificant things that piss you off.
DP> Perhaps on of the reasons I haven't encountered this difficulty is
DP> because I'm using someone else's classes -- not those out of the box.
DP> YAG and the folks at Flash Management have really done it right, I
 DP> believe.
Interesting....well for now, I'm using only what came in the box and with
the cd that came with VFP 3 Unleashed. Even a sample form with an Add
button from them does the same thing - no cursor in that 1st field after
ya hit that button.....I don't believe it .
DP> And to all a goodnight.
 Ditto
 Abb
... It was clearly and simply explained on page 542,839,721 of the docs.
