You bet! Wonder if the guys who make those tapes are the same ones who do
the figure-skating tapes where they cut off the skaters' feet!
So somebody has had to tell them, doofus, show the feet -- and then
they go do dressage and that's all we see. ;-)
Seriously, though, there's a talent in knowing what to look for and knowing
what people will want to see. No matter what they pick, somebody will be
unhappy. I know with commentary, the expert commentators who are sometimes
quite good at telling me exactly what I want to know as soon as the question
forms in my mind, are often reviled by other people who can't stand them. So
you can't win.

Yes, it's true. But since I am a Florida native, *I* am doing just fine. I'm
used to having this heat *plus humidity*. I just crank up the fans and drink
lots of Gatorade, my native drink. (I was at the University when it was
developed, and no, I don't mind the taste, even of the original lemon-lime
flavor. I prefer the orange and lemonade flavors, however.)

Well, this is the typical pattern for us: spring, fog, mini-fall, hot
weather, mini-fall, rain. Halloween is coming so it's time to scrounge
around and find the umbrellas and other raingear.

No, not at all!
A friend of mine came into work the other day with his dog, a golden
retriever. Boy, that poor dog was hot to the touch. He immediately lay down
and spread as much of himself against the cool floor as he could manage. I
wished I had one of those misters from the cross- country course at the
Olympics.
And earlier in the day, I had passed parked cars as I was walking to work,
where people had left their dogs inside. It was cooler then, but knowing how
hot it can get in a hurry, it was still pretty stupid.
Why are people so dumb?
