Lloyd,

Yes it is, thank you.  Alan raised a point about the container file 
becoming bigger than 2GB.  Has this ever been a problem for you?

I have an external 160GB USB drive as a target for backups that is 
formatted jfs. I was thinking of backing up similar to what I do on my 
main machine.  There I backup every Monday to tape and I have 5 tapes 
named WEEK1  to WEEK5.  This gives me a 3 or 4 generations of backups if 
needed.  I was thinking of creating directories WEEK1 to WEEK5 like my 
tape setup but just realized how big 160GB is.  Now I am thinking I 
should adopt your method and rename the files and beable to keep many 
more for a longer period of time.
