What are, "The Actual Baker Streem(sic) Manuscripts"? Still, I have read
the canon (i.e., 4 novels and 56 short stories) as well as the "Uncollected
Sherlock Holmes." I confess to a lack of fondness for pastiches, et al.

The Actual Baker Street Manuscripts ARE the Canon. I've read the first
two books which Nicholas Meyer edited, and enjoyed them very much. He
has a good sense of humor when it comes to matters like Watson's
wound(s) and wives. And I must confess that I liked "The Seven Per Cent
Solution" better than "The Final Problem" and "The Empty House" which,
to me, seem to cancel each other out artistically/

Copy?
Advanced Reading Copy (or Reviewers ... depending if it's sent to a book
seller or a reviewer). They tend to be "galley proofs" bound with a special
cover.
