A good thought and perhaps true but I recall my frustrations
in attempting to buy belts for otherwise perfectly
good HiFi reel to reel recorders.
I still maintain a nylon gear driven eccentric cam
would have done the job better and more reliably.
All the belt did was bump a plate in back of the 
paper causing a sheet to be fed to the feed roller.
