| subject: | Dried up Ink Cart. |
CA>TW> That is right. One Tri-Color and the other Black. the big CA>TW> Minus of that set up is that one can end up replacing the CA>TW> Tank with one partition empty but plenty of ink in the CA>TW> other two. Seperate tanks typicaly only come in the higher CA>TW> priced printers. And now in the seperate tank system some CA>TW> of the high end printers have gone to 6 Colors for better CA>TW> rendition of the color. Particualrly for Picture Prints. CA>I'm told you can purchase what look like hypodermic needles to CA>inject new ink into old cartridges? I'm also told it can be CA>destructive if you don't seal the puncture and ink leaks into CA>the machine from over-filling the tanks with ink. That leaking problem was rampant with our H-P 600 series DeskJets cartriges; so I am happy to be back with the much more tolerant Lexmarks. Couple of helpful hints: work over an old newspaper to catch the drippings, etc.; and rub vasoline into fingers to fill the pores beforehand; they can be very difficult to clean after handleing cartriges, etc..
