The tmpnam() function is ANSI.

ANSI defines TMP_MAX as the minimum number of unique names guaranteed to be
emitted by the tmpnam() function, and L_tmpnam as the length of a buffer
which is guaranteed to be large enough to hold each name emitted by
tmpnam().

TMP_MAX is defined as 32767 in Microsoft C, as 65535 in Borland C, and as
17576 (26*26*26) in Watcom C.
