     That's great.  Course it could've been done differently.
     Carol says you asked or warned me (not sure which) before
     you did it.  I never saw the posts.  I poved that in my
     post to her.  Coruse its not like its impossible to find
     me via email, netmail, website, other echos and ICQ.  When
     I just see a person (any person) taking a elisting from
     another person then I see it as hijacking pure and simple

     Not my term but a term used in fn_sysop and other echos
     for the last 15 years.  Especially in fn_sysop where it
     was done to an art form with back and forth hijacking of
     of elist and moderatorship.  Its just common sense would
     be to contact me first and let me elist it.  Though I'd
     probably have just said go ahead and do it yourself after
     sending you the form and password.  In today's world Elists
     mean diddly squat.  At least 2/3rds of fido doesn't even
     care or use the elist procedures anymores or backbone.  So
     its really a moot point to argue about and who cares.  Just
     a respect thing to me more than anything else.  But its
     done with and who cares.

     You have always been a hot head and that's fine.  Some
     folks are and some aren't.  I mean no offense in this.
     Hot heads are some of the best people around since they
     take leadership roles in things like the military and
     police for example or get heard over teh voices of many
     other voices and save lives (like a doctor).  I'm more
     a calm and laid back person.  I don't get upset.  I will
     never hate anyone in Fido or BBSdom/Cyberspace.  With
     only 1 exception Ripper a punk in the '80s who was a hot
     head and cussed every person he saw in every post he did.
     Just a punk.  Even Misanthrope a trouble user like ripper
     matured and later after he went to college called my bbs
     JUSt to apologize.  That to me was spectacular for a kid
     to do that.  He learned common sense and respect in his
     years growing up.  Even the arguments I've had with folks
     in Fn_sysop I don't hate (just enjoyed the debates).  I'm
     stubborn, long winded and persistent (and at times a bad
     speller since I type so much).  We all have our flaws.  But
     this never meant I had anything against you.  You just seemed
     to take everything personally.  This isn't my view its many
     others as well.  I mean I recall one time when you thought
     Mark or someone was talking about your education (or lack
     of it?) and you mis read the whole thing.  This hobby is
     FILLED with mis-read words.  Its how you react to those words
     that tend to be main issue.

     You think I'm stubborn about Telnet and so that's my reason
     to stop BBSing.  That's far from the truth its just 5% of
     the total picture.  Telnets I've not liked since they first
     showed up when Hypercom came out in win3.1 days.  Telnet
     is just awful looking and not as fun as dialup among other
     reasons.  Its the issue that folks see it as a cruch "oh I'll
     go to telnet and get 300% more callers!" when in fact its
     their lack of skill as a sysop (and participation) that makes
     their board dead not having a dialup line.  Its those folks
     who switch from dialup to telnet who thinks it will solve
     all the problems I have a issue with.  Its just a band-aid.

     You can tell me to let the echo hit me in the rear all day
     and leave on bad terms if you want.  That's up to you.  I
     could care less.  But I will never hold ill feeling for folks
     like you, Al, Kermit or David to name a few.  I may disagree
     with folks but hold no ill will.

     I will still remain in cyberspace and probably even BBS
     every so often when i get time.  Who knwos maybe when
     I retire in 5-6 years when I reach the big 40s mark I
     won't need to work anymore so I could sit and run another
     bbs.  But to be honest it would have to be a different world
     where posting levels increased at least by 150%.  Sadly
     they have decreased 300% by my stats world wide.

     So enjoy.  Hate me if you will.  Up to you. :)

     BTW the comment in bbs_carnival about the echo fade out?  That
     was in general terms.  I will hate to see ALL echos fade
     out and go idle like a TV fade screen.  But again you seemed
     to have taken that personally as being YOUR echo being bad
     or something.  It wasn't.
