George, I stick to my guns. No new crank shaft but only a new cam shaft. And
fuel pump would not run in reverse, it is operated by a cam, not a gear. You
should know that a cam coming to the lever either way will displace the same
amount of fuel and in the same fashion. Tsk!tsk!
As I said, I have an OMC Zephyr saildrive in one of my sloops and it has 
ever
had a sniff of gaz in it. Proper maintenance is all that is required and I do
give it to Zig Zag. To the extend that I have never used the bilge fan and I
still have not heard the big bang.  ROTD ;-)
