-> I wonder how long it'll take for the bacteria to mutate to affect the
-> birds contacted by migrating finches...
Kathy, I hadn't even considered the possibility that the bacteria could
mutate into a form which would affect the now-resistant wild birds.
Scary. A couple of days ago, I thought a sick bird had crashed into my
window. Came running out, but it was just a mockingbird determined to
get into the warm house. That bird flew against the window for 2 days
straight trying to get in. It really freaked Zigs and Nigel out- I
tried to make sense of it to them, telling them that bad bird wanted to
live in THEIR home. They didn't squabble at all for 2 days. I think
the "invader" made them appreciate each other. :*)
-> I wonder why? So, when are you going to get a hand-fed baby
-> finch?
I don't think another bird could ever take Beezie's place in my heart.
Do you know of any people handfeeding finches? I bet it's a real
challenge to handfeed such a tiny creature. Beez wasn't handfed, just a
lonely guy who chose to make us his new family.
