(This is from Carol:)
Yoo Hoo, Disney Fans!
I am doing this out of affection for this organization and to refer those
of you who are Disney fans and Disney collectors, or know someone who is,
to a possibility of a Holiday gift that keeps on giving the year around.
The National Fantasy Fan Club (NFFC) for Disneyana Enthusiasts is a
non-profit club with headquarters in Irvine CA and local chapters all over
the United States and one in Australia. Through it you can be connected
to other Disney fans and collectors.
The national NFFC has two conventions each year: A mini-Convention the
middle of January and a larger one each July coinciding with the
anniversary. Both feature Disneyana dealers and some Disney speakers and
much more. Members may attend at member rates. Some say the NFFC
Conventions offer more "bang for the buck" than the annual Official
Disneyana Conventions Disney puts on each September.
National NFFC members also receive a membership card and a 12-month
subscription to "FantasyLine Express", the club's excellent newsletter
which features general Disney news, news of local chapter activities,
collectible news, and a very extensive Classified Ad section
(buy/sell/trade/seeking) that is free to members.
National NFFC members may then join any local NFFC chapter. Local
chapters and chapters-in-formation provide a way to meet with like-minded
Disney fans in your geographic area, talk talk talk about Disney and
network with other collectors. Local chapters publish their own
newsletters (some people like to subscribe to other chapters' newsletters,
of interest would be the chapters in Orlando and near Anaheim), charge
their own dues and schedule their meetings and social gatherings as their
members like. You can also receive a kit from the national NFFC on how to
form your own local chapter if there is not one near you. The national
NFFC can provide a list of where the local and chapters-in-formation are.
Annual dues for individuals and families are $20 US funds. Make checks
payable to NFFC or National Fantasy Fan Club.
My husband and I have been members of the NFFC and charter members of the
New Orleans "Louiseyana Disneyana" chapter since 1992. It is a wonderful
way to meet other Disney fans, get a lot of Disney news, see others'
beautiful and whimsical Disney collections and generally feel as though
you are at Disney right there in your hometown. The national newsletter
is interesting on a variety of Disney subjects and very well put together,
something to look forward to eagerly around the first week of each month
in your mailbox.
Note to people reading this in Southeast Louisiana or South Mississippi:
The New Orleans Chapter will be meeting Sunday, December 8 from 2-5 PM in
a member's home in Mandeville (a suburb of New Orleans north of the
city/North Shore of Lake Pontchartrain). I will be happy to tell more
about our chapter to anyone who E-mails me at ckoster@neosoft.com. Our
dues are $15 per year for individuals or families and we have a *blast* at
meetings!

Back issues of the newsletter "FantasyLine Express" are available for
$2.50 each, if you want to sample a copy before deciding to join. Contact
local chapters directly for their meeting schedules and how to get on
mailing lists to be notified of their meetings or sample a copy of their
newsletters and what the cost of doing that might be.
The NFFC also has an unofficial WWW site:

and how to join it. Created and maintained by Randy Merkh

Chapter In-between" - located: USA
If this helps someone out there have a very Disney Holiday Season and a
Happy New Year, that's all to the good, IMHO. ;-)
