UGh, i hate bbses that do that.
Why would you do that in the first place? Sure, it may be rude, but on most
bbses it takes a long time to log off (you have to go through three or four
screens). Mine is like that, but you can also go "/G" and it just says
"" and hangs up.
So users really don't have any reason to drop carrier, but i don't punish
them for it. There's also call waiting, which, if not turned off, hangs up
the modem. It's not fair to drop someone's access because they got a phone
call.
If it messes up your modem, then try getting a modem made in the last five
years (and that's priced at over $5). Maximus can handle carrier drops just
fine, I can even show you a message with scott saying it does.
There's only one bbs here that i know of that does that, and the sysop is a
prick. (he has about 20 people twitted, 5 or 6 sysops, because of reasons
like "CALLED SYSOP (CINDY) A LIAR, SAID BBS WAS A JOKE" (cindy is is
girlfriend).. the message that he wrote to get himself banned: "Cindy?? You
don't run enterprise bbs, is that a joke?" (the bbs name is ENTERPRISE 1071..
his girlfriend runs ENTERPRISE 1071A)
So the reason i wrote this big long message is to tell you there's no reason
to do that. ;)
