-> PL> What I would like to do is have FD available for both incoming and -> PL> outgoing telnet... as well as have it call the BBS when required... any -> How/Why would you want FD OUTBOUND for people? It really doesn't do -> "outbound" except mail ... Exactly... outbound mail. Being that FrontDoor goes back to the beggining of time as far as FidoNet is concerned in out little net, and a few people here have FD2.33ml registered, why should it not be able to be utilized to connect to each other via a telnet connection for quick interchange of local mail at higher speeds on the broadband connections, as it was in the past over dial-up? It -is- capable as far as I know using the conversion features. I have made it capable in the past for inbound, but really want to have systems in the local net poll each other... what good is FDml via telnet, unless it can connect to other telnet enabled mailers outbound as well? Goal... setup FDml as a frontend for all nodes of the telnet BBS' we run, and be able to connect back and forth using it as we used to via dial-up... messages processed, responded to, then FD instantly sends it to the uplink, or all downlinks if hubbing, if they run a CM flag. We used to pass away many weekend evenings (the local net members) sitting at our terminals just -waiting- for the next round ;> (Flame retardant underwear being worn at all times ;> On the simplest end, being able to operate our systems without converting to all the rage ION stuff that people now swear by, and have it basicly "the same". We want "direct netmail" via telnet... Quick local interaction via telnet... Not only to have ITN systems be able to contact us direct, but be able to contact them as well. As a hub, I would rather use straight ITN connect, with FD, for mail delivery than the FTP we now (primarily) use. If I have to stop using FD to "keep up with the times", and have to reconfigure everything, well, it's really not worth it... I know it's been done, but -I- don't know how to do it at this point with Com/IP, but I figured somebody here might know how, as it is mentioned on the FD site that it does work, yet they provide no technical support on how to do it.
