Have you with a DosQueryNmPipeInfo (or whatever it is called in its
32-bit variant) verified that you really get the InBuf/OutBuf size you have
requested. The In/Out-buffer size parameters are only recommendations to
the OS, and the OS may or may not really allocate these buffers. If you
are depending on the buffer size, you should do this check anyhow, even if
you in your tests get the requested size, as this often is NOT the case
with networked Named Pipes (with networked NPs it is quite common that you
don't get the size you request).

I haven't verified myself, but I doubt that this will work. I don't
think the IP stack is is active at all before you dial out to a provider.
I am always running the IBM TCP/IP 2.0 (or MPTS with LS 4.0).
