Hello All, A short while ago, I read a message from one or two of you about wanting to use one monitor for two or more computers, but that it was too much money for the moment to buy the hardware. This may give you an idea or it may be redundant info, but here goes.... :) I recently picked up a data transfer switch box at a garage sale ($2.00). It has 4 data switching positions and 15 pin interfaces plus the I/O. I also snagged 2 cables with 15 pin interfaces on both ends ($1.00). I've seen the old data transfer switch boxes for under $5.00 a few times. I connected my 17" monitor to the I/O interface and two computers to the C and D data interfaces. Bingo! Now, both of the computers display perfectly, utilizing the same monitor by selecting the C or D interface. I still have the A and B interfaces open and may do something with them later. I've placed the two computers that are connected to the switch box on top of each other and now have room for a printer on the same desk. I now have 4 computers, 3 monitors and a printer on the desk in front of me and still have room left for a large cup of coffee. The $3.00 was well spent. :) Mike --- Maximus 3.01* Origin: Gypsy -=- Calgary Canada (403) 242-3221 (1:134/2) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 134/77 11 10 3613/1275 123/500 106/1 379/1 633/267 |
