The police have suspects under duress and stress
when questioning them while dangling the carrot of
relief should they confess.
Most innocent people are not prepared for harsh and threatening
treatment so in order to get that treatment to stop
they give in.
Witness the Central Park N.Y. "wilding" rape - assault where
several kids went to prison. The real rapist has now years
later confessed _and_ his DNA matches.
Not to fear however as when we all have chips implanted
locatable by satellite the "Department of Information
Awareness" will clear this all up because the government  
is too moral and ethical to abuse such information.
