12379f6abe55 tech Hello Joe - >> When certain items began increasing in price (gasoline for >> instance) suddenly everyone got price-increase-fever and >> everything begain increasing. JN> Funny how the insurance companies knew about this prior to 1960. I'm sorry. I'm drawing a blank on this. I don't recall any information about insurance companies knowing about gas price increases? JN> I suspect the banking industry also knew. All of which makes one JN> wonder how much they had to do with the oil embargo and resulting JN> price/interest increases. There are two aspects to these things. One would be if they encouraged these things to happen, the other if they knew a way to prevent it and did nothing. It seems industrialized nations have taken advantage of other nations and obtained natural resources for much less than they were worth for quite some time. Not just the USA but all industrialized nations. I would, of course, prefer that everything I had to buy was as cheap as possible but OTOH I don't like thinking that other peoples must suffer to make that possible. Business never has a sense of when enough is enough and will pay pennies for what they sell for hundreds of dollars with no second thoughts. ___ * ATP/16bit 2.31 * ...
