There were 36G units from IBM. They belong to the 36LZX family, codename
DDYS ("Discovery"). The entire family was blamed for its
"exclusive IBM"
platters wearing out prematurely, which only confirms it was a genuine
IBM product.

Dates back to 2000, I believe. Later that year IBM's desktop sector
began to lose points with 75GXP and then 60GXP series which resulted in
storage business being ultimately merged into HGST.
