That number includes one police officer and my best friend who knows my ethics and honesty. I tend to focus on those that believe rather than those that don't as I was *there*. It helps a bit psychologically to have a few believers and in fact there have been some mornings I wish I'd actually done something wrong so at least there'd be a _reason_ my current circumstances. However on repeated requests of that officer if tailgating on the part of police officrs was in any way a standard practice I"ve received no reply to that specific question at all. Other inquiries were answered promptly, draw your own conclusions. JP> I do not run a Mo-Byke anymore. I drive an SUV, yep ! Runs good and fine at that setting and I JP> get 33 JP> m/g imp, that would be 26.4 to your small gallon. See ? Hmm, that's within 1 MPH of my old Chevy Impala 283 8 cylinder. You've a gentle touch on the accellerator. JP> My SUV is an Explorer Sport, the 2-door model and I have kept the " JP> bad " JP> tyres. I am sure that the dead drivers were driving this as a sport JP> car JP> when it is a truck. So, no tyre exchange for me. I will not waste any JP> $$ JP> even if they were Ford's. Did you hear GM's Cadillac division is introducing a 16 cylinder 1,000 H.P. model? I've not confirmed this though the post did include a URL to verify. Who needs a 1,000 H.P. passenger vehicle? I used to joke with friends my 1100 Yamaha with radical cam and tuned pipes would actually perform once I latched a turbocharger on it ;-) It made an honest 119 H.P. as was but I bought it for it's handling, condition, low mileage used and reasonable cost at a mere 1,600 dollars for an excellent bike being the best used bike I saw at Barney's motorcycle shop that day. In point of fact I had been planning to detune it for the following reasons. 1. Lousy right hand cornering clearance with the tuned 4 into 1 pipes. 2. lousy gas mileage, a 32 MPG motorcycle with a 3.6 gallon gas tank :-( 3. excess noise 4. beast was a bear to start or keep idling smoothly unless you found a desolate area to opened it up a bit at least once every ten days or so. Opening it up a _bit_ quickly resulted in illegal speeds. To cross Florida and back was three fillups and it was a near thing reaching highway 27 on the return trip before the mighty half gallon reserve tank ran dry, long stretch of interstate with no gas stations handy. The thing would start sputtering some 12 - 16 miles after switching to reserve. Detuning I expected to improve mileage to around 40 MPG. Comically it also had an emergency kick starter bolted under the frame which you presumably could use to start it in an emergency, you had to attach it to the bare kick starter spindle. I made 40 bucks in bar bets no-one could kick start it before word got around and my group at that time included some rather large individuals. High compression, large size, limited travel and the lack of the swing pivot on the emergency kick starter made the bet a sure thing. --- Platinum Xpress/Win/WINServer v3.0pr5* Origin: FidoTel & QWK on the Web! www.fidotel.com (1:275/311) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 275/311 10/345 379/1 633/267 |
