Hello Carl,
We were discussing lack of quality teaching candidates where you are and
the surplus here.

Are you in need of elementary or secondary teachers? You know that I am
elementary (qualified to teach from K - 6 but actually teach K - 8). I
have been subbing in a gr 6/7 classroom for the past two weeks and will
be back in there next week. They are quite a challenge. I could have
four days teaching early primary this week too, at the same school - two
days in 1/2 and two in Kindergarten. Oh well, if the teacher is away for
another week and a half I will be considered to be in a long term
contract and get a rectroactive pay hike. :)
>Of course our pay is near the bottom of the barrel - $22,000 to start and

rest

Wow, your pay does sound low. How can they expect to attract quality
qualified teachers when they pay them so little. I have friends who have
been teaching for many years who get $60 000. I believe that $32 000 is
the low scale here, however, I haven't seen a payroll listing for years
so could be wrong.
WEll, I wrote you that I am on the Hiring List at my board.... Just had
a letter this week to say I have to be reinterviewed to stay on the
list. :( I hope I get a good interview team. Last time I had been teaching
in
for a period of time and was able to hone right into the questions with
ease. I hate these interviews,I don't always interview well. It won't be
until December 4th, so I have a while to get used to the idea.
