I finally succeeded in downloading an uncorrupted coppy of the latest
Death Rally version 1.1.  That was an accomplishment in and of itself,
given SWC's uniquely troubled telnet access...
All versions of Death Rally released to date ARE INCOMPATIBLE WITH ALL
versions of SciTech Display Doctor (UNIVBE51/51a, SDD52 & SDD53)
released to date, when used with Cirrus Logic video card with chipset
GD-5429.
I have this video card with 2 megs RAM on it.
Death Rally works fine after I've REMmed out the SciTech drivers.
But with any version of SciTech's drivers loaded, the play screen
appears like a scattered jigsaw puzzle, with an inch or two of
graphics on the top and bottom of my screen and everything in between
blacked out.
This is hugely ironic, since SciTech's products are boosted primarily as
a solution to video problems in games, etc.
