Ah the wonders of the SAVAK.

Such as say giving Ngorno-Karabakh to the Azeris so as to cause a timebomb
for the Russians?

Anyway....Turkey should stretch to Baku anyway....

You ain't seen the 1/2 of it.

Go & have a look {at}:

A) The Aral Sea & the surrounding pesticide & salt laden
dustclouds.... B) The former island in the Aral Sea where the SU carried
out their bio
& chem warfare development & then simply.....left....& is now a
"former
island" & has had much of it's contents liberated by said salt
& pesticide laden dust storms.....mmmmmm tasty....

Oddly named as.....Renaissance Island. Nowadays one might consider it as
the place where something like smallpox might achieve a
"Renaissance".

I'd be curious to see what these mines look like. My guess is that they are
not really talking about "hopping dinner plates"

The border to the south & the one in Nakhchivan with Iran & Turkey
were always some what "statically defended" & to that must be
added the recent Azeri-Armenian defences.

Yup. There's nowt quite like landmines for keeping the killing going long
after the war has ended.

There are huge chunks of the world which will never be "certified mine
free". I have a mate who was in Angola & SE Asia doing clearance
& frankly....you can reduce the numbers but not ever be sure you've
eliminated all of them.
